A dissatisfied customer(All the time)

The fall colors are starting. Especially, in the windows on market street.

Just yesterday I had everyone laughing at work. Like on my blog I tell them the same stuff before I blog it.

I was talking about some customers being picky on how they want their mail delivered or how some complained about the smallest things.
I had this one customer in particular that complained all the time. She would actually come to the office instead of confronting me with the problem. The first incident was when I had put her mail in the basket.(which is where it goes) The supervisor confronts me the next day and tells me my customer is upset that her mail wasn't touching the bottom of the basket. ????  Another time I was  delivering the mail and her basket was missing. ??? There wasn't any notice at the office to hold her mail. So, I proceeded to place the mail between the doors. Which I have done in the past for other customers. (WRONG!) Come to find out via a phone call to my suprvisor. When her basket is missing they are away and I am to hold the mail and I should have been told this by the previous carrier( Yea! We have the holy carrier bible on each route!) If all of my locals remember the Saturday PennySaver and you would get a paper and a coupon card. On certain occasions there weren't cards addressed for certain houses. On this day it happened to be this customer. Well I decided to leave a paper anyway, even though if there isn't a card I don't have to deliver it. Yep! You guessed it!! A phone call the next day stating there was no coupon card with her paper.
Now here is the funniest time yet!! As carriers we have to cross your lawns to get to each house. Unless, there are fences and bushes Etc... But If you dont't want your lawn crossed we have to have a written letter from you stating no lawn crossing. This gives us as carriers the rights to take the long way around during inspections.
Well! It had snowed this day and instead of this customer notifying me to not walk on her lawn, she decided to put up a rope. (a white rope) The rope had blended in with the snow and I didn't see it. It was waist high to me and as I approached her house  I caught that rope. It proceeded to flip me up in the air and toss the mail everywhere. When I came down  I landed on the rope and the small tree it was attached to snapped. So, I picked myself up sorted out my mail and decided to knock on her door to explain what happened. No answer! I finished the day out and was again confronted by the supervisor asking what happened to her tree. I explained and he laughed. When he went out to look  at what happened he realized it was a safety hazard and dismissed the complaint. The woman didn't bother after that and I left the route.( She was probably satisfied after that)

I was delivering to Atlas pizza today and I got invited to eat lunch with my brother, niece and three grand-nieces! I had a wonderful lunch!!

The oldest child asked me what my scanner did and then she asked me what my badge was for. I told her my badge was so my bosses knew who I was( to be funny). She gave me a funny look and asked me " Why don't your bosses know who you are?" You gotta love the twenty question game!!

Most of you who stop by my new blog has wandered from Kathleens Step by Step of Corning. Corning NY Step by Step
I have been going through some of her older posts and Its funny how one photographers sees the same view. Meaning I have older pictures of the corning area that Kathleen has taken. Not knowing the other was in the same area. Maybe even during the same day. I am part of Nikon  photography Forum that shows daily photos and it's funny how we have the same ideas on shooting the ordinary stuff. Like the moon, stars etc... This is why I have added my funny stories from my 19 years of delivering mail and to try not to give you the same views as Kathleen has. This way you see both blogs and enjoy!

You just have to laugh.

I was carrying a part of another route a while back. A large car pulled up and the passenger asked me" Do you have my check?" I said "I don't know who are you?". He gave his name and said where he lived. I told him I wasn't carrying the mail for that area of town. I explained to him that the route was broken up and several people were delivering it. They drive off in search of another carrier and his check. twenty minutes or so go by and the same car pulls up. Again the passenger asks "Do you have my check?" I'm trying not to laugh as I tell him I am the same guy he asked twenty minutes ago. He says"Oh" and they drive off. I am now driving to another spot on the route . I get out of the truck and low and behold! You guessed it! The same car and the same question "Do you have my check?'. By now I have realized the car load is stoned or on something. So, I leaned toward his window and asked him how many mailmen has he seen today. He says " three". I then ask him how many had funny looking safari hats like mine. He says "all of them".  At that moment the driver blurts out "Yeah! He is the same mailman we kept running in to!!" They finally left  and they didn't find me again!

Postal humor and pics

I will start off with a little Postal humor and some postal 101:
This happened a few years ago....

I had just got my lunch and decided to eat in the truck. As I was eating and relaxing a family was walking by. The father made a statement as they did. He said " See kids this is where our taxes go and why our mail is late." When they got by me a few more feet I decided to ask the gentleman to come back. When he came up to me I quietly said to him " First of all your taxes don't go toward my paycheck. I pay my taxes and social securtity like you. As for the mail being late. I am allowed a 30 minute unpaid lunch which you ruined by making that comment." He tried to say he was joking and other excuses. I just told him to have a nice day since our discussion took up the rest of my lunch.

If you get to Corning. At least look at the window displays on market St. You never know what you will see

The next several pictures I took were from the alley behind the Rockwell Museum. The murals are on Connors wall and on the Pyrex store wall.

Larry and Sandy. Sandy let me borrow a couple of her older lenses that work on my cameras. I thank her and use them quite a bit

I just wanted to put out this quick message. If you ever see a picture of you on my blog and wanted it removed. Just message me and I will remove it. I normally just take random shots of people in public. In most cases I don't know you and I appologize if it offended you.(It hasn't happened yet)

It was a great day to deliver the mail today! I walked a couple of blocks today during lunch , saw a few faces and architecture. It's amazing what you miss when you don't open your eyes to see what's in front of you.

Gonna miss this store.
Kevin is our area UPS delivery.
he covers the same area as me.
I think I work a little harder.
One of my locals. Can't hate him
